"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

I really DO love Lucy... except...

Day 3, Friday: Things that make you uncomfortable

I am very uncomfortable with embarrassment.

Okay, I know what you're thinking "yeah, who isn't?" Well, the twist is, I can handle personal embarrassment, while it is slightly uncomfortable, I have coping mechanisms that are my "go-to" remedies. However, when I am watching television, those coping skills are stripped away, leaving me powerless. And Lucille Ball is the Kryptonite to my Super[wo]man.

She is funny, and she was so very likable, but UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES can I manage to sit and watch her embarrass herself in the most outlandish ways. I could sooner scrape my fingernails on a chalkboard for a half hour. It's silly and sad, really... to be so overcome. But I am. Like your drunken infomercial, the candy conveyor belt fiasco, lighting yourself on fire... Poor Lucy, you're like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I love you Lucy, but I just can't bear you!

Your biggest [wannabe] fan,
